THE Gospel

What is the Gospel? Gospel means "good news." The good news is Jesus died for our sins, was buried for three days, and was raised from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-4.)

Watch the story of The Gospel Here

1. Creation and Fall

  • Creation: God created the world and humanity in His image, intending for humans to live in perfect relationship with Him and each other (Genesis 1-2).

  • Fall: Humanity sinned by disobeying God, resulting in separation from God and the introduction of sin and death into the world (Genesis 3; Romans 3:23).

2. Jesus' Life and Ministry

  • Incarnation: Jesus, the Son of God, was born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man (John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:26-38).

  • Ministry: Jesus lived a sinless life, performed miracles, taught about the Kingdom of God, and called people to repent and believe in Him (Mark 1:14-15; Matthew 4:23-24).

3. Death and Resurrection

  • Crucifixion: Jesus was crucified, dying on the cross to atone for the sins of humanity. His death was a sacrificial act, taking the punishment humans deserve for their sins (1 Peter 2:24; Isaiah 53:5-6).

  • Resurrection: On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead, conquering sin and death. His resurrection is the cornerstone of Christian faith, demonstrating His victory and deity (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Matthew 28:5-6).

4. Salvation and Eternal Life

  • Salvation: By grace through faith in Jesus, people can be forgiven of their sins and reconciled to God. This salvation is a gift, not earned by works but given through belief in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16).

  • Eternal Life: Those who believe in Jesus receive eternal life, a restored relationship with God, and the promise of resurrection and eternal life with Him (John 5:24; Romans 6:23).

5. The Great Commission

  • Jesus commissioned His followers to spread the gospel to all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey His commands (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the message of God's love and redemption for humanity. It proclaims that through Jesus' sacrificial death and victorious resurrection, people can receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life by faith in Him.

For further reading, you can explore the gospels in the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, as well as Paul's letters which elaborate on the significance of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection (e.g., Romans, Ephesians, and 1 Corinthians).
